Madrid is a large city, and it is recommended that exchange students have at least basic proficiency in the Spanish language in order to live and study in Spain for a semester. Marquette Law School students participating in an exchange at Comillas University may choose to take all English language courses or to take a mix of English and Spanish language courses. Incredibly prolific, by the 1970s Calder was in wide demand for public sculpture. While Mondrian focused on two-dimensional paintings, Calder focused on translating these ideas into sculptural work in many forms.

It was after this meeting that Calder began experimenting with different kinds of abstraction and developed a new appreciation for simplicity of color, shape, and balance. In 1925 he moved to Paris for several years, where he memorably encountered Mondrian-an event that had a profound and lasting impact on his work. He moved to New York in 1923, where he quickly found his calling as an artist, although the influence of his earlier pursuits can be seen in his work throughout his long career. Here he kept the two most distinguishing features of the eponymous dinosaur: the rounded hulking body and the distinctive bony plates along its spine.Д¬alder was born into an artistic family in Philadelphia, but at first he avoided art as a career, focusing instead on architecture and engineering. Sometimes he worked completely abstractly, but other times, as in the case of Stegosaurus, Calder maintained an explicit connection to the real world.
